﻿{"id":506,"date":"2014-10-24T14:04:47","date_gmt":"2014-10-24T14:04:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mvragency.com\/blog\/?p=506"},"modified":"2014-10-24T14:04:47","modified_gmt":"2014-10-24T14:04:47","slug":"the-worst-drivers-in-the-us","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mvragency.com\/blog\/the-worst-drivers-in-the-us\/","title":{"rendered":"Which State Has The Worst Drivers in the U.S."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Better have your Car Insurance Premium paid up and in good standing if you are planning to drive here.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>New York may have its aggressive, horn-honking drivers but it is a bastion of tranquility and safety compared to Boston, home to the worst drivers of any U.S. big city, according to an insurance industry report.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1414158267209_1946\">&#8220;A Boston driver, on average, will get into a collision every 4.4 years,&#8221; Kari Mather, a spokeswoman for insurer Allstate Corp, said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1414158267209_1948\">The company&#8217;s annual report, titled &#8220;Allstate America&#8217;s Best Drivers Report,&#8221; is based on client collision damage data in 2011 and 2012.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1414158267209_1950\">It found Boston ranked dead last among cities with more than 1 million residents in their metropolitan area. Next was Washington.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1414158267209_1952\">The large U.S. city that boasts the best drivers is Phoenix, where a driver, on average, will get into a collision every 9.5 years, Mather said. San Diego and Chicago ranked second and third among big cities.<\/p>\n<p>The analysis was weighted to consider factors such as population density and precipitation, Mather said.<\/p>\n<p>Allstate offers automobile insurance to drivers, who are required in most states to carry coverage for their vehicles in case of an accident.<\/p>\n<p>Mather said the report&#8217;s finding are not used to calculate driver costs, but to raise awareness.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1414158267209_1954\">&#8220;It&#8217;s more about a dialogue of encouraging drivers to be safer on the road. It&#8217;s a wake-up call to them,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1414158267209_1956\">The full report included 200 cities.
