First and foremost;\u00a0\u00a0 BE NICE.\u00a0\u00a0 99% percent of the time if you are polite the police officer will respond to you the same way.\u00a0 They are trained to be calm and cordial.\u00a0 Only talk when you are spoken to.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Don’t start playing Q & A about what you did wrong or why you were pulled over.\u00a0\u00a0 Remember, you know WHY you were pulled over.<\/p>\n
Above all, always tell the truth about any question asked of you.\u00a0 If you lie to a police officer, they will never have any reason to trust what you have told them.<\/p>\n
Now, if the police officer gives you a ticket, just suck it up and say thank you.\u00a0 Why?<\/p>\n
Because when you get home, you are going to plead “NOT GUILTY” on the back of the ticket (PS. DO NOT CHECK OFF THE BOX REQUESTING A SUPPORTING DEPOSTION!!!) That will only make the police officer do more paperwork.<\/p>\n
Get your day in court and you will have a chance to plea your violation with the local District attorney.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Mostly likely (unless you are a criminal) they will offer you a lesser violation and you may pay a stiff fine.<\/p>\n
BUT\u2026.It may not go on your driving record and cause your INSURANCE PREMIUM ON YOUR CAR INSURANCE TO GO UP!!!!<\/p>\n
