Keep Your Dog Calm During Fireworks

Whether for the Fourth of July, or any celebration, many dog owners deal with howling, barking, and anxious dogs during fireworks. The good news is that there are steps you can take to help your dog from freaking out during fireworks.

  1. Keep your dog away from fireworks.
  2. Create a safe haven for your dog in the basement or in their crate.
  3. Leaving a radio or the tv on in the background. Fans and A/C units are helpful too.
  4. Walk them before the fireworks start.
  5. Try playing sounds of fireworks (softly) so your dog is used to hearing them.
  6. Close all windows and doors in the home to soften the sound.

Your dog doesn’t have to be stressed. Stay home with your dog and comfort them while fireworks are going off. Love is always the best medicine!
